The Basking Shark (Cetorhinus maximus) is the second largest living shark (after the whale shark) it is notorious for it’s massive gape and generally harmless nature.
The basking shark is a cosmopiltan species found in all the worlds temperate, oceans.
It is very slow moving and filter feeds plankton and small ocean life, and in order to sustain it’s giant appatite the Basking shark has to filter through the size of an olympic swimming pool every hour.
